Training in face-to-face questioning and interrogation

The purpose of the course:  improving the questioning and interrogating skills of professionals in the fields of security and investigation.

Intended students: interrogators, investigators, security officers and security department directors

Location:

The training in face to face questioning and interrogation will take place in the School's facilities in Central Israel, or in a suitable facility in the client organization or business.

The program includes lectures on and practical training in questioning and interrogation.

The syllabus:

The questioning-purposes and elements: rules, purpose, elements and objectives of questioning. Duration: 2 hours.

Characteristics of questioning: what are the characteristic elements of questioning? Duration: 3 hours.

Long and short questioning planning: in order to make the questioning effective under given circumstances, one must choose the appropriate type of questioning; what situations necessitate short or long, continuous questioning; how to conduct each type? Duration: 2 hours.

Questioning and interrogation surroundings: what are the optimal surroundings for conducting a questioning? Duration: 1 hour.

The questioner: the characteristics and skills required of a questioner. Duration: 2 hours.

The questionee: recognizing various types of questionees, analyzing them, and choosing the appropriate technique of handling them. Duration: 4 hours.

The lie: its history, detecting and recognizing it, its symptoms, premises about lie and truth; recognition and symptoms, and dealing with it. Duration: 4 hours.

Psychological and physiological effects during an interview: mental processes and behavioral effects; learning and conditioning; reinforcements and sanctions; arousal and stress; defense mechanisms; effects on the nervous system, heart and respiratory system, and other physiological effects. Duration: 4 hours.

Body language: bodily messages contradicting the verbal ones, and ways of dealing with them; non-verbal communication and its diagnostic significance; the elements of non-verbal communication; signs and messages, characteristics of non-verbal communication; can non-verbal messages be controlled? Duration: 6 hours.

Interview tactics and manipulations: ways of removing "bottlenecks"; proper questioning; possible dialogue crises; when and how to use manipulations; dialogue crises solving techniques. Duration: 4 hours.

Practical training: practice, feedback and conclusion. Duration: 8 hours.
